Student Services
|
At Crescendo College we understand that we must help students believe they are capable of succeeding, and that this success is worth our students' investment. We do this by offering numerous resources for students, and requiring their usage through Crescendo Transition courses. Through different assignments students will be exposed to academic advising, the Office of Accessibility, Counseling Services, Career Services, and the Student Health Center.
By applying Alexander Astin's Theory of Involvement, we have come to understand that the extent to which students can achieve particular developmental goals is a direct function of the time and effort they devote to activities designed to produce these gains. Student involvement refers to the quality of the physical and psychological energy that students invest in the college experience. At Crescendo we want to ensure that we are creating an environment that will ensure that the student is involved both physically and psychologically. The student services that we offer at Crescendo College are the catalyst that will help create that environment (both internal and external) for the student they that they can be successfully involved and thus successful: reaching their forte. To ensure that we are reaching our goal of student success, and our learning outcomes (see Learning Outcomes tab), we evaluate our programs in terms of the degree to which they increase or reduce student involvement. The student services we provide tend to focus on the psychological well-being of the student so that they are able to be as "involved" and invested in all aspects of their education (both in and outside the classroom) |
