The faculty at Crescendo College are dedicated to helping create an environment that will help engage students and keep them involved. Faculty at Crescendo understand that learning will be greatest when the environment is structured to encourage active participation by the student. The faculty of the school of Arts and Sciences at Crescendo is responsible for teaching many of the CCC courses that are required of all students regardless of declared majors. It is most important for these faculty members to understand the importance of creating an environment where a student can be involved and engaged. More importantly, all of our faculty prescribe to the same learning outcomes as the overall learning outcomes of Crescendo College. Because there is an overlap in the learning outcomes of faculty administrators and staff, we are ensure that students are receiving the best education through well-thought-out curriculum, in a carefully structured learning environment. According to Alexander Astin, frequent interaction with faculty is more strongly related to satisfaction with college tan any other type of involvement, or any other student characteristic. With a faculty:student ratio of 11:1 and class sizes typically smaller than 20 students, the school of Arts and Sciences offers ample opportunities for students to interact with faculty that truly care about their success. |

Faculty Teaching WorkshopsMost of the faculty in the school of arts and sciences are currently top researchers in their field. However, our faculty have chosen to dedicate time to the students of Crescendo and value our students' time and involvement in all aspects of their education. Although research is important for faculty, Crescendo also understands the importance of ensuring that our students are receiving the best instruction possible. To do so, Crescendo has been working to create a teaching workshop mandatory for faculty, to ensure teaching techniques are up-to-date, working to the benefit of our students, and supporting out learning outcomes and initiatives. Crescendo hopes to put this workshop series into production Fall 2013 and has been working with Carnegie Melon and adapting their take on Faculty Workshops.
